Embracing Appreciation & Gratitude
By Cheryl Glover, New Thought Kabbalah

Appreciation & gratitude is a spiritual state of mind; it is a state of mind that allows us to open to the power of love, the law of attraction, and the energy of prosperity. The metaphysical reason behind this state of mind is that we open ourselves to the positive focus of what we have and what we can potentially have. This openness then returns to us more of what we are appreciating and grateful for.

For example, if you appreciate the income you have, you are focusing on the positive side of receiving income. What you therefore get is more income. You are focusing on something you have and want more of, you are open to the spiritual energy, and you are being positive: open, positive, focused. If you focus on bills you get more bills, here you are focusing on income.

In order to create and manifest abundance, prosperity, health, relationship, income, opportunity we need to appreciate the abundance, prosperity, health, relationship and income we have. As an example, here is my “creation break” (instead of a coffee break) every day:

  • I love and appreciate my family, my children, my parents, my siblings, etc.
  • I love and appreciate my friends
  • I love and appreciate my house
  • I love and appreciate my store
  • I love and appreciate my clients
  • I appreciate the income I receive every day
  • I am grateful for the attention my book has received
  • I am grateful that I can help so many people
  • I appreciate the booking I get for teaching and I appreciate my students
  • I am grateful that I am able to teach and help others find G-d
  • I am grateful that I am free
  • I am grateful that I can be spiritually free
  • I am grateful for the new opportunities that come my way
  • I appreciate that so many people bring me gifts as appreciation for my help and teachings
  • I am grateful that I am in perfect health and getting healthier every day
  • I appreciate that I am growing younger yet wiser
  • I am grateful that G-d is in my life and in everything I do
  • I am grateful for my spiritual gifts and talents
  • I appreciate the love and appreciation from my students
  • I am grateful for the peace, harmony, joy, happiness, love and prosperity in my life and in the world
  • I appreciate and am grateful for all that I have and will have

This does not mean that there are events or things that I would rather not have in my life. However, I do not give them more focus than they need but give the positive and appreciative things more focus. So for example:  I have bills, but instead of focusing on bills, I focus on and appreciate having the income. I want more income, not more bills. I want to focus on being debt free but the subconscious cannot understand a negative, so I focus on appreciating my income and welcoming more.

Similarly, I focus on all the other items on my list above. This allows the opening for more items that I would appreciate and be grateful. This works on a personal level as well as on a global level. I am appreciative and grateful for the peace in the world. This does not mean that the whole world is at peace, it means that I appreciate that there IS peace, right now, somewhere. I want it everywhere, but I have to start by appreciating it wherever it is. If everyone would do this we could sustain this energy of love throughout our world.

Another blessing is the impact that appreciation has on others. At my last healing circle, I had a person stand up and everyone expressed appreciation for her. You could energetically see the difference in her aura, her personality, her posture when people were appreciating her. She was dramatically changed. She was charged, she was loved, and she was whole. Imagine the impact on a child if they knew that we were grateful and appreciated them rather than that they were to be unheard, unseen and an annoyance.

Therefore, we find that OUR being in appreciation changes us. Giving OTHERS, appreciation changes them. Furthermore, when we appreciate good things in our world, we change the world. When we appreciate peace, we get peace, when we appreciate love, we get love, when we appreciate the beauty of our world, and band together to bring this energy forth, it manifests.

Finally, giving G-d appreciation changes the world. It is said that the Angels stopped responding to Mankind for a number of generations because Mankind was not appreciative. We stopped focusing on Heaven. The kingdom of heaven is in our hearts, if we stop appreciating this, we stop giving--- then we stop receiving. No other type of gift would be more devastating to stop receiving. For the gifts from heaven are the gifts to our soul. If we stop feeding our soul, we lose.

G-d gave us the words and the understanding: Thou shall love the lord, thy G-d, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all you possess. When you are a child, you need to be loved. However, when you are an adult what you need is someone to love. So love and appreciate G-d, and all will be good.

Appreciation can change a child, a person, a family, a nation and a world.
