Lulu Blog
Well, we knew this sad day would come-- our last day at Book Expo. On the
other hand, it's BEA's official book signing day too-- a time when authors
get to hang out, talk to readers, and autograph books. The Lulu booth was no
exception, and while the Lulu Staff was away tying up loose ends with
potential business partners, our authors (minus Mary, who had her book
signing the day before) took control--
Of course, all good things must come to an end, but not before we all had
a chance give each other high fives and promise to catch each other online
back at Lulu!
I can't speak for them, but if you get a chance to ask the participating
authors--Cheryl Glover, Mary Wise, Hillary Depiano, Alix Paultre, Paul Juser
and Josh Rubinstein--I think they'll tell you that the show was worth the 3
days of community effort that they put in. One thing's for sure-- we
certainly wouldn't have had the same "buzz factor" without them. For
example, by the time Tonya and I made it to the Google booth to talk to the
Google Print guys, they already knew about Lulu from the authors that had
been spreading the word. Great work, guys!

It's Day 2 at Book Expo, and David, Tonya and Andrew are off to meet
publishers, retailers, distributors, and author service providers--
they're working to make publishing and distribution work as well as
possible for our community of authors.
Me, on the other hand-- I'm lucky enough to be tasked with hanging out
with our author community! So, Late Saturday morning Lulu Master Mary
Wise stopped by, and authors Alix Paultre and Josh Rubinstein dropped by
once again to spread the word to the BEA masses about the revolution in
publishing! You see, it really doesn't matter what any of the Lulu Staff
have to say-- it's about your story. It's about how you found
Lulu, how the process worked for you, and how it finally felt to have
your book in your hands. We were privileged to have such strong
community spokespeople!
Cheryl Glover and Joe Candia joined us as well, although Joe
realized quite quickly that the "small" black Lulu T-shirt wasn't gonna cut
it. Ooops!
